The National Week on Financial Education (SNEF, for its acronym in Spanish) 2020 will be carried out in a virtual format due to the restrictions on events derived to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The information to be provided to the public will be through videoconferences, videos, infographics, and social media.

The messages to be transmitted will focus on strengthening the economic-financial competencies (financial education) of households and retail investors, providing data on the soundness of the Mexican financial system and on the benefits and risks of investment for retail investors.

It is important to point out that the messages will include proposed messages by IOSCO for WIW 2020.


La Semana Nacional de Educación Financiera (SNEF) 2020 se realizará en formato virtual dada las restricciones derivadas de la pandemia Covid-19.

La información se transmitirá al público por videoconferencias, videos, infografías y redes sociales.

Los mensajes que se transmitirán estarán enfocados en fortalecer las competencias económico-financieras (educación financiera) de los hogares y pequeños inversionistas, la fortaleza del sistema financiero mexicano y los beneficios y riesgos de la inversión para el pequeño inversionista.

Es importante señalar que los mensajes incluirán mensajes propuestos por IOSCO para WIW 2020.

The CNBV will work with the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of the Financial Consumer (CONDUSEF, for its acronym in Spanish). CONDUSEF organizes the SNEF and will design and operate the website for the SNEF, as well. All educational material for participants will be available in this website. A campaign will be launched in October to promote the Website.

The participants in the SNEF are insurance companies, commercial banks, state-owned development banks, non-bank regulated financial entities, and the governmental regulators of the financial system, among others.
